Do you know this film? This is one of the Disney films. It calls "レミーのおいしいレストラン" in Japan. I watched it last year. My friend lend me its DVD and I have still borrowed it. I want to try to watch again and again. I really like this film.
Then, I would introduce this film a little bit and also introduce a recipe of ratatouille. Ratatouille is a traditional French dish.
Firstly, Remy is a rat. He has the good sense of smell and the good sense of taste. He can cook and understand a human language, so he learned how to cook from TV programs or books.
Linguini is a boy who doesn't have work. He also lost his mother and father. However he started work at a restaurant as an odd-man.
They met and cooperated together. They couldn't cook alone each other. Other members in restaurant didn't know about Remy. Gradually, the menus which made Remy was so popular. The menus includes ratatouille.
This film describes friendships and loves of family. I also learned that food can connect our relationships but also our old memories. For example, we will remember happy memories when we eat a cake. In this film, the cake is ratatouille.
Next, I would introduce one of recipes of ratatouille.
Please go to the URL, you can see easy one.
Lastly, I like both ratatouille!

I watched this two times, and each time, I felt something different.
I really like the message in this film that cooking is for anyone. It doesn't matter who you are and whether you are good at cooking or not.
I also like the bold conception that a mouse does cook. It's very interesting!!
The link which you introduced looks nice.
Did you have a chance to cook ratatouille?
If not but interested in, please try and let me know after you tried.
Thank you for sharing your experience.
I agree with Yako - cooking is for everybody. It always makes me sad when people say they can't cook because I think everyone can cook if they want. Also, I love how memories can be connected to food. I have lots of food memories! What about you? What is your favorite food memory?
返信削除I also like this film! It is heart-warming film, I think. I was surprised that mouse could cook well. I could learn there is no impossible to do because even if mouse it can cook!!
返信削除This is one of my favorite movies, so I saw the film again and again. Ratatouille seems healthy menu. I can find that there are many vegetables in this dish. That is why, its appearence is so good. Especially balance of color is nice! Isn't it?
